Weather - or not??

Having Weather is better than not having any, because without Weather, what would people do to start a conversation???

For a look at the national weather, try the Interactive Weather Information Network from the National Weather Service. It has features that let you pick any state, review national level features, and stay on top of warnings and world weather of significance.

Click for Omaha, Nebraska Forecast

The icon to the left contains a summary of what is going on in Omaha; you can click on it and get weather information for the rest of the world

Another source of data, imagery and maps/charts is available through the banner link below. This is a private source who collected all of these links into one location to simplify the search for weather information - for which we say a big THANKS!

Searching the Internet on a class or research project can be a frustrating experience if you do not sure what utilities are out there to help you search. On the right is a link to a list of search services, with direct connections and explainations of the basic features of each,  that I hope you will find  useful.  A direct link to one of my favorites is below:

Searching????

crest4.gif (14858 bytes)

On the left is one version of my family crest, carried to North America by the family members who came here in 1635. Additional views can be seen at this link or its mirror here.

I admit I got VERY lucky because I found a cousin who had all of the information from my grandfather back to 1635 - the step I had been seeking for over 30 years!   Here are my Family Connections.

Speaking of family, here is a link to the story of the search one of my nephews has been conducting to find out more about his father (my brother-in-law).

Genealogy: sources for you to access to find out about your family and your origins.

Have you ever heard of a "Netsuke"?

International Netsuke Society:  Here is a source of information about an art form that I have come to enjoy very much; if you want to see a real example, stop by my office and I will show you my replica Demon Catcher -- and i hope you enjoy pictures of some netsuke I have held in my hands.

Another good basic tutorial is available at the WorldCollectorsNet   Internet site

For  more information , here is a   nice site put up by a netsuke dealer.   This lady's site presents a good basic background on netsuke's.

What IS Artistic Roller Skating?

For one thing, it's my hobby and has been a continual source of some competitive success tempered with the occasional injury - if you have never seen or heard of artistic roller skating, the link above will take you to my skating site that will hopefully start to explain it all. And you can also stop by my office and review a video of  recent National championships --

If anyone out there is a skater and wants to go to an open session for adults in Omaha (no one under 18), stop by, call, or send me an e-mail note using the form below; and if anyone is a former competitive skater and wants to get back into it again --PLEASE CONTACT ME-- ( I am also a Certified Artistic Skating Coach)

If you have never been to Nationals have you ever wondered what it is like in the arena as an event gets ready to get underway? Here is a short photo essay that I put together to try to convey the feelings and happenings of Competing at the Nationals

Fun Links On the Lighter Side

There are links to a number of other diverse interests that some of you may enjoy visiting. Hopefully these links will help cut the tension when the going gets heavy during a study session and take you to new and interesting places.

So there you have it - a Home Page of personal interests and activities. The views expressed on all of my Web pages are mine alone, not anyone else's, any where, any time!

The RailWe're building a railroad across the Internet. And all along the railway in both directions, you'll find web sites displaying this shiny little Rail Icon.  Click that icon on any site that's connected to The Rail, and you'll be transported to the nearest junction where you may travel onward to the East or West. No matter which way you go, you'll keep on discovering new and notable rail stops, each sporting that same spiffy icon. This message and the Rail engine was built by the eccentric folks at Glacier Point Software who, incidentally, wish you a safe and happy journey through the howling wilderness of the Internet frontier.   This is junction 3664 on the Science Expedition.
